Abstract
Unsuccessful attempt to obtain gunpowder in Spain, explosion of Colonel Livingston's powder mill. A Captain Harris raised troops to aid the ministerial party, was captured going from Dutchess County to Long Island, and then escaped. Two weeks may see the patriot cause lost in New York City unless Congress acts quickly to send troops up from the South.
