- Abstract
- Attended High Court of Chancery. Heard in an express from Charleston that Count d'Estaing has landed 5000 men there or in Georgia; if true, this means that the British are defeated there. It is conjectured that part of his fleet and army have moved northward. There might be a general embarkation for England from New York. Believes it would be impolite of the British to visit again, as we have not y et returned their last call.
