- Duplicate Autograph Letter Signed version of 6967. "Lee is where he ought to be. Connections have done and will do nothing for him. Deane may complain of duplicity and perhaps justly. John Jay has advised Morris to enter public life, and "I will neither seek for nor avoid it." Robert Morris is in charge of finances and will probably write to John Jay on that subject. The Spanish Court must send at least 6,000,000 dollars. There is no news worth writing. Describes action of Cornwallis and Greene. The account given to Morris of Greene's situation is untrue.
