- Abstract
- Received Jay's of July 21. Discusses what has passed concerning the disgrace attached to him with the Ticonderoga defeat. Will consent to an inquiry before the Council of Safety. The letter from General St. Clair should show that Schuyler took timely and proper measures for the security of Ticonderoga. The strictest scrutiny into his conduct will prove his innocence. Account of his orders and actio ns at Ticonderoga. Requests a copy of General St. Clair's letter to Jay.
