- Abstract
- Horses arrived and are quite satisfactory. South Carolina assembly met and have done those things they ought not to have done, and not done those things they ought to have done. Resolution against importation of slaves passed by a bare margin, and this commerce will stop, at least until the state is out of debt. His brother, General Pinckney, Major Butler and C. Pinckney with Mr. Laurens, are nomin ated to attend the Constitutional Convention. Thanks Jay for copy of Adams' letter, which was unnecessary to convince him of Jay's integrity and patriotism.
