Comments on French postal service. Would have been better if Massachusetts decision on Constitution had been more decisive; as it is, though, a blow to anti-federalists. Elections of Va. delegates to Convention for ratification o f Constitution begin this day. Can't make any predictions on chances of adoption until members of convention chosen. Has no doubts of its success himself, though he doesn't think himself good judge as he seldom leaves Mt. Vernon. Pleased at return of Mrs. John Jay's good health. Hopes that good weather will make John Jay's recovery complete.
