Abstract
The account which accompanies this letter (no enclosure) is as exact as Carmichael can make it previous to a settlement with Cabarrus. A strict examination of all their accounts with Cabarrus will be necessary since contrary to instructions that gentleman mixed private with public accounts in his books. The moment the whole account has been examined he will send copies to Congress and to Jay at Par is or wherever he should be at the time. He ends: "I beg you to believe me..."
