Spaniards will not be in a hurry to answer John Jay until Cumberland shall be heard. Encloses a letter which one of his informers at the Court brought him [a letter of Cumberland?]. Has made the acquaintance of an Abbe Caste, an Italian who accompanied the Austrian ambassador here. Rumors circulate that Clinton has been beaten.
