- Abstract
- An extensive letter dealing primarily with arrangements John Jay asks Benson to make to have Peter A. Jay live with Harry Livingston, so that the boy may be close to John Jay's father, yet not be a burden to the Jay family. News of Yorktown has arrived--America should not cease in her exertions, for the news may just as easily encourage new British efforts rather than incline them toward peace.
