If Livingston accepts the appointment as Minister f or Foreign Affairs, the Chancellorship will probably be offered to Mr. Duane. Mrs. Frederick Jay has gone to New York to visit friends. Unfortunately, she went by way of New Jersey and did not secure the Governor's permission. There will be difficulty when she returns because this is the route taken by those persons dealt with by the Commissioners for conspiracies.
