- Abstract
- Copy sent in cipher to Jay with Morris's letter of 29 July (document 7009). Rendon asks Morris to have La Luzerne join with him in urging the Governor of Havana to accept the bills. Tells him that Don Diego Josef Navarro has left Havana with the convoy of warships and merchant ships carrying treasure. Morris's letter should be directed to the Captain General of Cuba, and if he writes to an individu al, the letter should bear the notation that it should be opened by his representative.
