Jay encloses a note he has written to the Marquis of Yranda of the same date instructing him to pay from the funds Franklin has credited to Jay the sum of 4,800 livres, to be given to Carmichael and charged to Jay's account. He says that he has written very fully to Floridablanca and therefore his presence in Aranjuez will not be necessary until Thursday. In the meantime he shall answer letters tha t need to be answered.
