- Abstract
- We must be recognized as independent before we agree to negotiate. Otherwise we will be foiled by intrigue. We have nothing but integrity, perspicuity and firmness. Britain would destroy us if she could and therefore we must remain firm before her. Their pride is a disease. We must never waver.
