Abstract
Jay refuses the office of Chief Justice of NY. Jay will stay in the delegation if his brother can care for the Jay family. Leaving would take him out of the realm of ambition. Jay is able to provide for himself in this world but wants property in the other world also, and his views of ambition extend beyond this life. Will pursue the dictates of what he considers his duty.
