- Abstract
- Bayonne turning toward the American trade. Also met some friendly people in Bordeaux. Mrs. Jay had a fever on the trip. Hopes soon to meet the Countess deMontmorin. All Jay's family have also had the flu. Pleased with France and grateful to her aid. "No people understand doing civil things so well as the French." Thinks Aranda in earnest after meeting him. Glad he is considered an obstinate man. Pl eased with Count d'Estaing and likes his taste in interior decoration.
