- Abstract
- The King of Spain commends the choice of the United States of John Jay. He is also pleased of the desire of the U.S. to form a connection with Spain The manner must first be settled. No objection to Jay's coming to court to discuss terms with Spain. Not possible, however, for him to assume a formal character until a treaty worked out.
