- Colonel Laurens is going to be secretary to Franklin. Adams is appointed to manage the business of pacification with Britain, Dana is his secretary. John Jay goes to Spain with Carmichael as his secretary. Wishes Morris could use his talents in Europe. Hopes Duane, Hobart, Livingston and Morris will be in New York delegation to Congress.
