- Abstract
- Hopes that he has paid off all of his [William Lee's] debts in Virginia in paper money, or at least have made offer of legal tender paper money for this purpose. This is most important, and he therefore encloses a list of his debts as of May 1777; he could not have contracted any others after that date. Also gives instructions concerning settlement of accounts of deceased Executor of his father's e state. Please prevail upon the Superintendent of Finance to pay his salary, either directly or by means of bills on Paris or Amsterdam. Instructions for management of his estate in Virginia. His family now consists of his wife, one son and two daughters, the youngest of the daughters, age two, having been born in Brussels.
