- Abstract
- Forwards letter from a Mr. Wangenheim concerning emigration to U.S. Many applications of this kind come to John Jay daily from Frenchmen and others. John Jay gives all same answer-- "U.S. interposed no impediments to Emigrants, so on the other hand, their Government offered no particular gratifications or inducements." North Carolina and Kentucky Resolutions are here (London) and "they do no good." War with U.S. with U.S. would be unpopular unless U.S. provoked it.
