- Abstract
- Favorable account of the Morris's two sons who recently spent their holiday with the Jays. Account of the prevailing fashions, the gowns most worn being the "robes a l'Angloise." The Marquise de la Fayette has expressed her inclination to see America; Mrs. Jay has assured her she would be well received there. The Queen has just returned from 8 or 10 w eeks at Passy; she is handsome and with engaging manners; many of her traits are worthy of imitation "even by republicans." Has learned that the Count d'Artois and Prince Mazarin will soon arrive, and conjectures the siege of Gibraltar is to be abandoned.
