Abstract
Acknowledges receipt of 30 January. PJ is sorry to hear of Morris's indisposition. He prescribes a visit to Bedford in the spring for a change of air and leisure. Morris's allowance of interest on John Jay's money shows a "Delicacy of Sentiment which is not very common in these Days of Cupidity," but considerations of a similar kind forbid him to accept it. He will keep the check for $980.44, but a sks that the amount exceeding the principle be deducted from his next dividend. On Morris's advice, John Jay is accepting Suffern's offer, which he presumes will not prejudice Morris's dealings with Pierson. John Jay and Morris are, after all, "in the Evening of our Lives," and should rather conclude such business than leave it to executors less capable of handling it.
