- Abstract
- Acknowledges receipt of 9 April. James Jay is sending only a small quantity of the secret ink Washington has asked for, but it is all that remains of the supply he brought from Europe. He has some of the ingredients for making more, and can easily obtain the other components, but unfortunately he has no space to set up an apparatus for producing the i nk. Besides, no materials and no workmen are available for erecting a furnace or a hut. James Jay would be glad to makeup more of the ink if Washington would direct Colonel Hay to furnish him with a workman and other requisites.
