Abstract:
No "men of true spirits" in Holland have been influenced by Sir Joseph York's memorials. The armed neutrality policy of Holland will do much to hamper England's attempts on the independence of the United States. Adams spoke recently to De Neufville & Son concerning the loan. Although the present time is unfavorable, the De Neufvilles will do their best. Before discussing it more with Adams, the De Neufvilles would like John Jay to know that they think it advisable to bring together all the Dutch loans under one head, in order to retain Americas honor and good credit and to avoid all suspicion of multiple entanglements by Congress.
