- Abstract
- The Dutch rejoiced at the news of General Greene's success over Lord Cornwallis. There is not a single patriot in Holland who does not wish that the United Provinces and the United States had long ago been allies. The city of Amsterdam and others will never consent to a separate peace with England. De Neufville & Son were disappointed in their well-in tentioned measures, but were proud to have been "cheafly concerned in the expedition of the two first Dutch Letters of Marque for the continent under American convoy."
