Abstract
Waited to learn John Jay's directions concerning Ruckel. He and Munro have decided to leave fifty feet to the south of the bridge empty to avoid interference with canal. Business matters. Reports rumor that John Jay intends to organize a new regiment in which officers will be confined to those who at present have no commands. Rumor has upset many of p resent officers. "The Chancellors friends begin to dispair of Success Many Wagers that you will gain the Election have been offered and refuse. They pretend however that the Majority of this City will be against you."
