As the Court seems favorable to the United States, Jay hopes that the unpleasant measure will terminate we ll. Jay cannot afford Mr. Ross the aid mentioned in Franklin's letter. He must request further credit in order to pay his and Carmichael's salary. Count Montmorin knows about the enclosed papers. Franklin's Danish correspondent was very civil and very much embarrassed. This indicates more caution in the future. Cautions Franklin to be very careful in his mode of sending mail.
