- Abstract
- Is pleased that his bills were readily accepted, and he is happy to find that the reports were false. Praises Franklin on the success of his negotiations. The French conduct towards America is praise worthy and has "attached me to the whole nation in a degree that I could not have thought myself capable of ten years ago." Jay has not yet ascertained what he may expect from Spain. Mrs. Jay desires a letter from Franklin. "I believe there is no man of your age in Europe so much a favorite with the ladies."
