- Abstract
- A detailed account of campaign in the South from the defeat of Gates until Cornwallis' march to Williamsburg. Observes that the people remained loyal to the Continental standard despite the lack of any established government in North Carolina and Virginia-this despite continual inducements and threats from Cornwallis. Revolt of the Pennsylvania Line and their subsequent rejection of Clinton's offer s is another indication of the resolution of America to resist the demands of arms of Britain. Huntington has resigned as President because of ill health.
