- Henry Laurens' capture frustrated Admiralty Office's plans to obtain naval stores in France. A second bill of exchange is transmitted, which Jay is directed to pay to the order of Schweighauser and Dobree in Nantes. The brig "Active" will be ordered to France to obtain the goods.``
