Abstract
Can write a clean bill of health for her sister (Sarah Livingston Jay) but her spirits are beginning to flag after the winter. Thought the fireworks and entertainment would have helped her but she would not come. Tells some anecdotes of little Peter Jay. Dined at headquarters yesterday and was delighted with Mrs. Washington. General Washington and others are glad John Jay continues in office. Cousi ns Sally Broome and Peggy Clarkson would like to visit; will try to get passes for them. The beauty Miss Helena Morris sends her compliments. Camp is very lively; all the belles from Princeton and Basking Ridge are there.
