Minutes of the special verdict in this case, ca. 1770. This is a copy of
the verdict in Jay's hand, with marginal comments concerning his objections to its form
Jurors find adverse possession by defendant for upwards of sixty years, that the lands
in question do not fall within those granted to Bedford by the Colony of Connecticut,
and that they were adversely occupied by John Miller and his assigns for sixty years.
The verdict appears to reject Jay's contention concerning the 1683 boundary
agreement.
