Encloses papers concerning a young gentleman who will try "to gratify his ill-founded resentment by misrepresentation" to John Jay. John Jay doubts that there will be a peace this winter unless Cornwallis is taken. Has received as yet no answer from Spain. Hopes that Morris will be in Congress this fall.
