- Abstract
- Received Jay's letter from Mr. Line. Feared the latter would get taken delivering the letter; they had heard the enemy had made rapid progress in New York. Has not heard about Dr. Bailey whom she thought was with the British on Staten Island and thinks the box of letters were delivered to her father from there through Amboy but is not sure. Laments the conditions of war. Her boy does very well. Has heard that the Jays want to send for their son. Would part with him with regret and might escort him herself if there is room for her at Fishkill.
