- Abstract
- She asks Jay's friendly interposition and influence on behalf of her family and recounts in detail their recent difficulties in trying to change their residence to a healthier climate for her ailing brother. She particularly requests that Jay write a note to General Gates, if he thinks it will do any good, requesting that the Bayards be allowed to pass beyond Ludlow's Landing and not be forced to r emain for another eight or more days abroad the sloop on which they have been travelling from Fish Kill to Poughkeepsie and lately to Ludlow's Landing.
