- "Knowledge is essential to the Duration of Liberty and Pennsylvania is wise in making them both Objects of public Care." He is honored by election to the American Philosophical Society, and will send them information which may interest them. Congratulates him on the erection of the Bank, which is of considerable significance for America. America deserves and needs a victory, for nothing will increa se her friends as much as her being formidable to her enemies.
