- Abstract
- Outlines the reasons behind his feeling that Elbridge Gerry was elected, to a large degree, by federalist electors who felt that he was a federalist. The Jacobins look forward with anticipation to the Presidential election. Their party is well organized throughout the Union- they work with a unity of purpose possible only to men without morals. While the Massachusetts federalists were annoyed at Ad ams for his appointment of Gerry to the French mission, they now support Adams.
