- Abstract
- Has his request that his son, convicted of manslaughter, be pardoned. The boy apparently was suspected of malice in committing the act, even though it may well have resulted from playful indiscretion. Such indiscretions, however, must to some degree be treated as penal. It is for the public good that he be imprisoned only so long as may be needed to make an example for the public. Next week he will be visited by the sentencing judge, and will be able to make a better judgement concerning the term the young man should serve.
