Abstract
Thanks him for communication Jay's desires regarding a present. It is sufficient for Jay that the friendship between Britain and United States is on a firmer ground. Once war is over, the commerce between the United States and the British West Indies will assume new importance. Jay hopes that liberal arrangements will be possible and that bonds of com mercial intercourse will unite the two nations.
