Abstract
His father was a "Flaming Son of Liberty" and had the honor to be one of Governor Trumbull's council during the Revolution. Wishes there were biographies to do justice to Trumbull, George Clinton, and Jay. Mumford resided with Franklin in Passy in capacity of a clerk under William Temple Franklin. Franklin praised John Jay's fortitude in his trials at the Court of Madrid and esteemed him a constant friend. Lafayette has produced fine feelings in everybody; encloses a pamphlet of the "effusions of my heart."
