Abstract
Will make use of the paper sent him on the 18th instant as desired. Has heard with regret of the political division among Federalists in John Jay's county. It is the duty of those concerned to concede to each other in order to restore harmony and political unity. Was sure that John Jay acted from disinterested motives, but is nevertheless glad to have his statement so that his friends may know how the division arose, and the reasons for his conduct.
