- Has communicated to other Federalists the reasons why Mr. Van Cortlandt was not supported in Westchester, with which they are satisfied. Van Cortlandt still hopes to be elected, but Bleecker supposes that cannot be. The senate has passed a bill for the relief of the merchants but the matter is still under debate in the House of Representatives.
