A manuscript in the Bibliotheque National, Paris, entitled "Histoire Genealogique de l'Ancienne Maison de le Jay" contains a description of the La Rochelle Jays' coat of arms. Cites the historian, Bolton, as referring to a work on heraldry in which the arms of Le Jay de Poiton are identical with those borne by his own family. Hopes to see a photograph of the portrait of "the lady of Montonneau" and to know the price the owner is asking.
