Abstract
They daily expect the arrival of a British commission for the negotiation of a commercial treaty. Jay feels that any commercial treaty should be of temporary nature; when America grows stronger she will be able to successfully demand a commercial treaty permitting free trade with all colonies and islands on or near the American continents. Tells Morris of the invention of "Globes", wherewith men ma y ascend above the clouds. Sends along two engravings of such "globes." Looks forward to returning to America, and requests that desires to keep him in Europe be discouraged.
