Hopes that the United States will not become embroiled in European wars until she has a fleet and fortified ports and formed alliances--and, he feels, a British alliance would be the best to make. Weather and crops discussed. New method of potato planting. Recruiting methods for British army. Asks John Jay to visit him shou ld he come to Ireland.
