- Abstract
- While serving writs on behalf of the Livingston family, he and a town constable were assaulted by three disguised men. Deponent was beaten about 250 lashes, and watched the same punishment being administered to the constable. The tormenters left them free after repeating their threat that any public officers who came to serve process in Livingston Manor would be killed. Despite their disguise, he r ecognized the men, and filed an accusation with the grand jury.
