- Abstract
- Commends Jay on his accession to the post of Secretary of Foreign Affairs, and recalls Jay's residence in France. Asks Jay's assistance in securing possession to seignories on the shores of Lake Champlain, of which he has been deprived by the injustice and multiplicity of the British government after the surrender of Canada by France. Should his brother the Count de Lothiniere pass through New York he commends him to Jay's protection.
