Abstract:
Sends their letter closing the negotiation with Berlin. Letter on counterdraught from court of Tuscany. Have heard from Adams that a Mr. Lamb coming with instructions on the negotiation with Barbary. Anxious to settle matters with these powers. Have given Mr. John Baptist Picquet some money and have asked Adams to supply with a large additional sum fo r his troubles in the advance of American seamen in Lisbon. Congress should consider what if anything further they wish to give him. Asks Jay to inform them if any of their letters to Congress have been received.
