- After conversation with Livingston, Jay retired to reflect on it. Will say in this letter the sentiments he was too embarrassed to say to his face. Livingston possesses every social qualification and mental endowment. Jay had early thought of forming a connection with him. They have now entered into this connection which will be productive of happines s and advantages for both.
