- Abstract
- Forwards letter from a Mr. Wangenheim concerning emigration to United States. Many applications of this kind come to John Jay daily from Frenchmen and others. John Jay gives all same answer-- "United States interposed no impediments to Emigrants, so on the other hand, their Government offered no particular gratifications or inducements." North Carolina and Kentucky. Resolutions are here (London) an d "they do no good." War with United States would be unpopular unless the United States provoked it.
