- Abstract
- Seems that contradictory reports still exist concerning the treaty negotiations in 1783. Hopes that Napoleon will be less prone to disregard French-American ties than the previous governments of France. Treaty of peace with France on other than just terms would be dishonorable, and worse than no treaty at all.
